Unfortunately there’s a large group of people who aren’t interested in “applications”, helping the neighborhood, or “resolving” anything. Victimhood and outrage have become a fashionable lifestyle.

The best part about this guy is his background. He came from a shit background like the community protesting and changed his life for the better. Great role model for them.

Yeah, because clearly black people are choosing to be targeted by law enforcement at disproportionate rates compared to other populations. Because they’re choosing to be killed by law enforcement in droves. Because they’ve chosen the racial disparity that predisposes them to higher conviction rates and longer sentences than white defendants convicted of the same crimes. Because they’ve chosen to be discriminated against on the job market, first struggling to get hired, especially if their names sound too “ethnic” or “exotic,” and then not getting paid commensurate wages compared to whites who are similarly qualified.
Right. Blacks choose to be “victims” of racism the same way Oppos choose car mods or fancy watches— because it’s a “fashion statement.”
Because this is really all just a shell game where black people are making bank, bruh! Step 1: Be a professional victim. Step 2. Avoid bullets like a Pokemon dodging a pokeball. Step 3. ??? Step 4. Profit!
That is, quite possibly, the most absurd, ignorant, insulting and laughable thing I’ve ever heard.

Roland Fryer, a black leftist professor at Harvard just completed his 10-year megastudy on police interactions, concluding that while blacks do receive more police attention, they are not the subject of more police-shootings.
This is consistent with actual killings by police, which show blacks as a disproportionally LOW number, particularly when you consider rates of violence. But I suppose telling criminals they’re untouchable is the answer...

Sadly, it likely just means he’s accused of being a traitor, “acting white”, etc by many in the community he’s trying to protect. Like the racissss cops shot while bodily shielding black civilians, whose pictures somehow didn’t make national news.

I don’t see Tumblr users working themselves up into a froth over badly forged screengrabs and unoriginal memes.
Reddit on the other hand does.

From everything I’ve been seeing, the Dallas PD doesn’t have much of a problem with brutality. Let’s see this happen nationwide, then I’ll be impressed.
The 4x as likely to be killed is just an average. In some places it’s as high as 20x.

Or you have places like new York where they want to try and diversify, but years of stop and frisk gave so many people BS police records that there aren’t that many people to hire

While I don’t exactly disagree (at least not completely) I do feel I have to bring up the fact that there are other factors here.
Lets start with your point. No more blacks are being killed than whites.
Good. (that feels odd to say but I think you get my meaning)
But black are a smaller part of the population, so proportionally more are getting shot.
Oh, shit.
But then the areas most likely to have violent crime (and thus most likely to have police shootings) are inner city neighborhoods where WHITES are the minority. (I’m not saying the blacks spawn the crime, I’m saying they tend to be in the poorer areas. As does the crime. Correlation=/=causation)
Good.
The blacks are concentrated only in those areas because of decades of rampant racism.
Oh, shit.
And so it goes on.

I don’t really like responding to you because you take such “black and white” (pun intended) stands and it’s hard to engage in discussion when you start by sounding offensive to someone, but I’d like to throw something out there:
You’re both right. You more so, because the majority are sensible people who just want to live in peace, but there are always—no matter the group—a few who are so far gone that all they want to do is jump in and blame something on somebody, somewhere, that isn’t them. But to call that part of the group the majority is delusional, which is why I say you’re more correct.
I’d like to point up the rise of “Fuck the police”. It’s not “I’m wary of the police because of what they’ve done”, it’s unconditional “fuck the police”. Which in view of everything that’s happened is not a wholly surprising sentiment, but it is exactly the sentiment jaguar7117's comment.

I mean that was me: a trouble maker of the future. The guy that was one of those guys that my parents so arrogantly saved the world for, so we could fuck it up. We can do a hell of a lot more damage in the system than outside of it. That was the final irony, I think.

Being a 1/2 Czech, it’s very simple. America is a melting pot. Moving toward the promise of a better way of life means abdicating an old one
English, Irish, European, Asian, Mexican, African. etc. etc.-our ancestors ultimately sold themselves into serfdom so their offspring would be the beneficiaries of a better life under the U.S. Constitution.

Nearly all cultures in the U.S. were once Serfs coming in one way or another....but we didn’t stay Serfs. We worked hard and flourished more than we could have before. No excuses for cop killing.

1. Where, in any of my comments, have I ever even remotely implied that I condone the killing of police officers?
I’ll answer that for you: nowhere.
2. Are you seriously saying that the Africans (and their descendants) who were brought here against their will and who were beaten, sold, raped, killed and otherwise treated like less than human....
...were fucking serfs ?!
No. Just no. That level of ignorance is beyond appalling. Educate yourself.
